Direct to film printing does not need spraying a pretreatment like direct to garment, but a powder. The innovative concept remains simple and easy to correctly apply. With a direct to film desktop printer, print directly onto PET transfer film.

To fix your transfer sheet, apply direct to film powder manually or with a 1m Powder Dryer. Then heat this direct to film powder which will act as an adhesive between the shirt to be personalized and your Direct-To-Film print. To finish press the transfer on your garment with a SEFA heat press machine.

What is DTF powder used for and how is it composed?

The powder acts as a binder, an adhesive between your transfer sheets with its pattern and any garment. It can consist of cotton, polyester, cotton and poly blend, leather and more. The colour of the fabric is also irrelevant, the dtf transfer film will stick to all of them. Say goodbye to liquid pre-treatment spray solutions. Save time and work on more important tasks.

This hot-melt powder consists of polyurethane elastomer (TPU). DTF hot melt adhesive powder ensures a quality transfer, which sticks perfectly from the first application. Its unique formula ensures excellent adhesion and good washing resistance. The adhesive powder is exclusively developed for dtf prints. It is used on all Direct-To-Film printers.

How to apply Direct-To-Film powder?

There are several ways to apply DTF Powders Medium. After reproducing your design directly onto the transfer sheet, dtf printing demands the application of hot melt powder to stick it to your custom t-shirt. We offer two packages, the Medium Powder 500g and the Medium Powder 10KG, the economical format.

If you are just starting out, we recommend you manually cover your artwork with powder. It's a great way to learn this new print-on-demand technique. Preferably take a plastic and antistatic container, the DTF hot-melt adhesive powder does not stick to this smooth surface, this allows you to recover it more easily. Then put some dtf powder inside and bring your film to cover the heat transfer powder design. Shake your PET sheet to instantly remove excess Medium Powder DTF.

The second possible solution is much more comfortable, faster and more precise. Use the PDRY3 "Powder Dryer 3m", the ultimate powder dryer in the market or the PDRY1 "Powder Dryer 1m." Set up your device and take a test. Then, this equipment added to your dtf printer will perform the steps automatically.
