Direct to film printing is an excellent blend of two well-known printing techniques: Direct to Garment printing and Digital Screen Transfer. The design is reproduced on a special DTF PET transfer film. The dtf inks Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black settle first and then the white is printed. Printing is absolutely simple and fast.

To bond your transfer to your polos or shirts, you need applying a hot melt powder. Harden it in a BDRY "Basic Dryer" or even better the PDRY1 "Powder Dryer 1m" which performs all its key steps for you automatically.

To finalize your production, transfer the design using a heat press machine, from SEFA. Your garment can consist of Cotton, Lycra/spandex, poly, blends, leather and more. It applies to light or dark colours, even black.

Why do I need using special Direct To Film inks for direct to film printing?

For DTG printing, the ink is applied directly on the garment. To adhere and ensure good holds, you spray a pretreatment on dark and black cotton textiles. In comparison, DTF printing is done on a PET transfer film and does not need pretreatment other than the DTF powder. You can apply your Direct-To-Film transfers on all textile materials. In order for your DTF Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, White, Black inks to stick to the film and be compatible with DTF powder, you need to use special DTF ink.

Direct-to-film printing allows you to produce with respect for the ecosystem. NSP-DTF water-based inks are environmentally friendly. In addition, the composition of C M Y K W dtf is much more fluid than that used with DTG printing.

This offers you a great advantage! These inks do not settle quickly in your printing system. Maintenance is therefore easier. This gives you the flexibility to space out system cleanings over time.

Compared to DTG, the composition of our dtf inks don’t contain large particles. They easily pass through the printhead nozzles. You are done with printheads that regularly drool or clog.
